Top Ten Non Vinyl Cricut Maker Projects

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

Fabric.  I LOVE fabric.  So much so that when I was first introduced to the Cricut Maker, I couldn't wait to try out that rotary blade.

Fast-forward 2 years and I still love my Cricut Maker.  But not just because it cuts fabric, but because it can cut SO many different types of materials.  It really is a super versatile cutting machine.

That's why today, I am super excited to share with you my best Cricut projects!

Yep.  And my favorite part about this round-up of Cricut projects is that they are all non-vinyl projects.

So many people don't realize that the Cricut Maker is not just for cutting out paper or vinyl.  It is for SO MUCH MORE!

Don't get me wrong.  I love cutting out vinyl and iron-on vinyl with my Maker.  But that isn't all that my machine can do.

Each of these projects I've created and shared within the last year and ever single one of them I made using my Cricut Maker.  From leather projects to fabric to the new Infusible Ink.  You can do a lot more with the Cricut Maker than you might have ever imagined.

I've put together the 10 most popular non-vinyl Cricut projects that YOU my readers have loved and come back to over and over.

Let's count them down!

Here are our best Cricut projects.

Looking for a quick gift idea?  Or maybe you just want to add a little texture to your kitchen or bathroom.  Making a simple fabric applique towel is an easy way to do this.

For this project, I used the Rotary Blade on my Cricut Maker machine to cut out each of the letters for this towel in fusible fabric.

Could I have cut them out by hand?

Yes.  But they don't turn out as crisp.  I love how easy it is to cut out fabric designs, especially applique using my Cricut Maker.

#9 - Easy Paper Pinwheels

I'll admit, I am not a paper crafter.  But I do occasionally take on a paper project like this super easy pinwheel.

I made these for our spring decor and loved how easy it was to cut them out on my Maker.

Again, all the lines and creases were cut crisp and they look so much more professional because of my Maker.  The Cricut Scoring Wheel Tip is also really great for paper crafts that have score lines.

If you have never tried to make your own leather hair accessories, the Cricut Maker makes it super simple.

You can grab many types of leather from the Cricut website.  They have 22px sheets or you can grab smaller sample packs to try as well.

Once you have your leather, you'll use the Knife Blade to precisely cut your leather designs.  Cutting with another tool is not nearly as clean as the Knife Blade cuts.

I love creating using felt.  But sometimes when I am making small designs like this little ornament, it can get tedious or just frustrating to try and cut with scissors.

Using the Rotary Blade on my Cricut Maker, I can cut out even the smallest of shapes like the holly leaves or the horn for this unicorn.  I especially love the Cricut Felt Sampler because it is a stiff felt that holds it's shape well and makes cutting easy.

No other cutting machine I've ever tried (and I have tried several) can cut with the accuracy that the Maker can cut fabric.

Faux leather is such a fun material to work with.  Not only does it come in many shapes, styles and textures, but it is fairly inexpensive and cuts out great on the Cricut Maker.

I personally have found that I tend to like cutting faux leather using the Cricut Deep Point Blade.  Since faux leather is thinner than leather.

But the best part about cutting these cute bows out with the Cricut Maker are the little details.  I can cut out small shapes inside the bows like those snowflakes and they turn out perfect every single time.

Think of all those bows you can make!!

Do you use coasters?  We use them quite often and I love that you can customize them with the Cricut Maker and some Infusible Ink.

For this project, I used a buffalo plaid Infusible Ink Sheet.  I picked my designs on Cricut Design Space, cut them out and used the Cricut EasyPress to heat set them onto the coasters.

Cricut has a couple coaster styles to choose from including the square and a circle.  I've used both styles and really love how easy and how vibrant the colors are.

Did I mention how much I love that the Cricut Maker cuts fabric?  Well I LOVE that!

I designed this simple ice skate stocking and uploaded it to Cricut Design Space.  Used the FabricGrip Mat to hold my fabric and cut all the pieces out using the Rotary Blade.

I made several of these stockings and it was so easy to load the fabric, cut and unload.  Much better than having to hand cut each piece of fabric.

Have you noticed all the amazing projects you can do with faux leather?  Bows, hair accessories, even keychains.  But by far my favorite (and apparently my readers too) are faux leather earrings.

There are so many options when it comes to making earrings.  Different materials, styles, colors.  All of which can be cut using the Cricut Maker and either the Knife Blade or the Deep Point Blade.

Don't let earrings scary you!  They are simple and come out beautifully every time.

Show your pride in your earring cutting abilities with these fun patriotic earrings!

Using your Cricut Maker, you can cut out all the designs with the help of your Knife Blade.  It will cut clean through any type of faux leather or genuine leather.

You can grab these free cut files too!!

I am not surprised that these classic earrings SVGs are #1.  Did you see #2 and #3?

I designed these earrings for my sons teachers as a teacher appreciation gift.  He has a LOT of teachers.  We made probably 10 pairs and they all loved them.

We use Cricut Genuine Leather for several pairs along with the Cricut Faux Leather.  We even slipped in a bit of Iron-on Vinyl to make a few designs elements stick out.

I even designed the earring cards in Cricut Design Space.  Each pair of earrings had its own individual earring card to give to the teachers.
