I'm always looking for a fun way to decorate for holidays, parties or just in my home. Several years ago I learned how to make paper pinwheels and have been wanting to share for a long time. Today is the day I share this quick paper craft!!

Like I said before, pinwheels make a great simple decoration. They are so easy to make that they can be a fun kids craft as well. Make a bunch for Easter or the 4th of July and take to a parade.
My little man loved this giant pinwheel and wouldn't let it go.
If you don't want giant pinwheels, you can make smaller sizes as well.
The pinwheel template comes in several sizes or the cut file can be resized to fit your needs. I really love making the giant pinwheels and putting them on long wooden dowels to stake in the ground for party decorations.

DIY Paper Pinwheels
Materials Needed
Cut out pinwheel using craft paper and the free pinwheel templates at the end of the post.
Step 2
Place a dab of hot glue in the middle of the pinwheel. Fold the pointed edge toward the middle of the pinwheel. Repeat with all for corners.
Step 3
Glue a button in the middle of the pinwheel.
Step 4
Glue the pinwheel to the end of a pencil.
If you want the pinwheel to spin freely, poke the pin through the middle of the pinwheel and through the eraser of the pencil. This is enable the pinwheel to spin. Just make sure to tape the straight pin down. See the video for more details.
How cute are these little pinwheels?! They work great to place with flowers or in flower pots. Or you can use them as decorations in a little mason jar on their own.
