Applique Made Simple with Cricut + EasyPress Mini

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.

I have to admit something.

I know it has only been a short time since I've had the newest member of the Cricut EasyPress family, the Cricut EasyPress Mini.  But...

....it is TOTALLY my favorite EasyPress by far.

Perhaps it seems like I'm exaggerating.  I am not!

Not only am I getting the same technology as the larger EasyPress like the even heat plate and easy to use settings.  But I have a small handheld EasyPress that I can use for sewing projects!!!

I have already used this tiny EasyPress for EVERY sewing project I've made this week.

Why?

It is tiny and can sit right next to my sewing machine.  Which is great for quick seam pressing.

It gets HOT!  Which means really crisp seams fast.

It fits in my hand and is super lightweight.  No more bulky iron or ironing board getting in the way.  I don't even have to stand up to press small projects.

Not only is it great for lots of small sewing projects, but it is great for adding iron-on vinyl to loads of projects as well.  Here are some examples of projects the Cricut EasyPress Mini is designed for:
  • adding iron-on vinyl to
    • hats
    • shoes
    • shirt sleeves
    • cuffs
    • pockets
    • stuffed animals
  • sewing applique projects
  • quilt blocks
  • baby bodysuits
  • pressing those small tight corners

And the list could go on!!

Of course, the EasyPress Mini has limits.  You wouldn't want to use it for a large sewing project like a pair of pants or finishing a quilt.  It is definitely made for smaller projects.

Step 2
Trim down pieces of fusible fabric to about 2-3" squares.  Place on pink fabricgrip mat.  Load and cut in on your Cricut Maker using the rotary blade.

Step 5
Stitch design to the towel by following close to the raw edge of the fusible fabric.  You can choose to use a small zig-zag or satin stitch or a straight stitch will work as well.

Give your towel a final press.  Now you have a really cute and simple fall towel that took less than 30 minutes to create.
