Easy Nesting Fabric Bowl Pattern

There were SO many small notions and bobbles.

Some in this bowl, others in this little plastic bag and even more at the bottom of my fabric storage bin.  I was really struggling with how to store them.

I needed all of the items, but couldn't find them when I went looking.

I didn't want to waste money buying notions I already had!!

I decided to try making a free fabric bowl pattern.

One that I could easily store when not in use, but was useful each time I needed it.  I was sure I was not the only one needing a little organizing help.

I settled on designing some nesting bowls.

With 3 sizes, I could store them together and they'd be useful in my creative space as well.

I designed this easy sewing pattern so that anyone could create these little bowls.

They work great in the crafting area.  They are also great for dropping in small toys that show up in my space that aren't meant to be there.

You know the ones....like legos or little action figures.

I can't be the only one this happens to.  Right?!

I also found after making a few, they make really fun gifting containers.

Make the small size or large size and you can add treats, small toys or a fun handmade project for a friend.

I also love that they can be used to decorate for a holiday with fun holiday prints.  They can hold snacks or small decor.  They are very similar to our fabric basket sewing pattern.

Okay, enough talk.  Let's get sewing!!

Step 1
With Right Sides Together (RST), match the side seams of 2 of the main fabric bowl pieces.  Stitch down the side seam.

 Step 2
Repeat step 1 until all 4 pieces are stitched together.

Place the final two sides together and stitch down the side seam.  You should now have 4 sewn sides.

Repeat Step 1 and 2 for the lining fabric.  But leave a 1" opening on one of the sides.

Step 3

  2. I agree with Maggie, why is there no print button for directions. Hard to make these if you don't have the directions in front of you and being on the computer is not always handy.
