Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to create for because it is just plain fun. I love bringing spooky charm and playful colors into our home!

If you have been around here for a while, you already know I am totally obsessed with handmade pillows. Accent pillows are the absolute best project. They are fast, budget-friendly, and instantly transform your couch for the season without taking up weeks of your time.

We have made some super fun ones together over the years, like our cozy Leaf Wreath Pillow Cover and those cute Quilted Pumpkin Pillows. Now we are adding a brand-new spooky favorite to the mix: the Halloween "BOO" Pillow.

It is fast, fun, and looks amazing on an entry bench or cozy couch.

What is a PDF pattern download?

PDF patterns are sewing patterns that you can download and print right from home.  You print the pages and assemble the pieces from home.  No going to the store.

How does downloading a PDF sewing pattern work?

Depends on where you are getting your pattern from.  Patterns that are from Google Drive and Etsy can be downloaded right to your computer by clicking the download button.

Once you've downloaded, search for the name of the pattern on your computer.  When you find the pattern open it and you can start printing.

    Step 4
Cut out a 2.5" x 44" piece in black fabric for the rim of the pillow.

If your fabric is not 44" wide, cut out two pieces of material and stitch them together.  Cut a piece that is 44" long.

    Step 5
With right sides together (RST), pin this strip around the outside edge of one of your pillow pattern pieces.  Make sure that right sides are pinned together.

Stitch rim to the pattern pieces.  Press.

    Step 6
Repeat step 5 but with the opposite pillow pattern piece.  Make sure to pin so that the edges are well matched with the already stitched side.

Leave a 4" opening on the bottom edge of the pillow for stuffing later.

Use scissors to clip around all the rounded edges and clip into the corners.  This way when you turn your tree right side out all the corners and curves will lay flat.

Turn your pillow right side out.
