The holidays have a way of bringing memories to the surface. Every ornament, every song, every scent seems to hold a story.
Keepsakes and holidays go hand in hand because they remind us of the people we love and the moments we never want to forget.

When our oldest son passed away suddenly in 2022 at the age of 12, the holidays took on new meaning. Each year since, we've looked for ways to keep his memory close and to share a piece of him with our family.
One of the most special things we've made are these ebroidered Christmas ornaments stitches with his signature. It's a small detail, but it feels like having a part of him with us.
We gifted the ornaments to grandparents and they've become treasured keepsakes for everyone who loved him.
This year, we wanted to do the same with our other kids signatures. And so the keepsake embroidered Christmas ornament was born.
You can do the same for someone you love. Whether it's the handwriting of a child, parent or dear friend, embroidered Christmas ornaments are a beautiful way to preserve their memory for generations to come.

Step 3

Cut about a 1" seam allowance around the outside of the embroidery hoop.
Step 7
Carefully run a basting stitch around the raw edges of the embroidery hoop.
Step 8
Turn the hoop over and carefully pull the basting stitch so that the fabric starts to gather around the hoop. Tie off the edges of the thread.
Cut a piece of cardboard or Kraftboard the same size as your embroidery hoop. Hot glue the board to the back of your hoop to encase the fabric raw edges.
Step 9
Cut a piece of twine about 6-8 inches long to thread through the hoop screw.
Hot glue some holiday floral like holly and ivy to the top of the hoop to cover the screw.
