Llama llama red blanket. Okay maybe that doesn't rhyme. But this adorable llama felt ornament is the perfect addition to your holiday decorations this year.
This felt llama will brighten up your day with his festive little blankets.
You can do them in Christmas colors like I did in red and green or feel free to change them up to fit your own holiday décor in style.
Most handmade felt ornaments should take you an hour or two from cutting to sewing. And it's perfect to do in front of the TV while you're watching your favorite holiday flicks.
How to Make a Llama Ornament
Materials Needed
- Felt Llama Ornament Pattern - get at the end of the post by clicking the peach colored button
- Tan, green and red felt
- Glass Doll Eyes - I used 2mm
- Brown Embroidery Floss
- Poly Fiberfil
- Basting Spray
Step 1
Use the adhesive spray to temporarily set the blanket top to the bottom. Stitch two layers together with a decorative zig zag stitch around the top blanket.
Step 2
Place the front and back pieces together. Use a blanket stitch to stitch the two pieces together.
Leave a 1" opening along the back of the llama to add filling.
Step 3
Add the Poly-Fiberfil. Finish stitching up the back of the llama.
Step 4
Use a sharp point and pierce through the face of the ornament where you'd like the eye to go. Attach glass eyes using basting spray.
Step 5
Use adhesive spray to attach blanket to the back of the llama.
Hand stitch the blanket to the llama at the corners.
That's it!! Such a fun a simple project that makes a really great gift or just a fun holiday project.
