PR&P: The Wuzzles

Since this is the first week of Project Run and Play and I am super excited about this weeks challenge.  The challenge is "80's Cartoons".  I thought of the usual, like Strawberry Shortcake or Rainbow Bright, but then I remembered The Wuzzles!

You might wonder who the Wuzzles were.  They were only on TV for a few short months, but at our house they were AWESOME.  All of us kids had our own Wuzzle.  Mine was Moosel.  My other siblings also had Bumblion, Eleroo, and Butterbear.

In fact, to this day I still have my Moosel.  You'll see more of him in the pictures below.  I wanted to make sure whatever I made the kids has inspired by and also good for everyday wear.  Items that could be worn after this fun challenge.

Baby girl's outfit was inspired by Moosel.  He is a cross between a seal and a moose.  Immediately I knew I wanted to use the Persimmon Dress from Welcome to the Mouse House.

Used some turquoise and lavender solid cottons.  Wanted it to be flowy but easy to wash also.

Love the pleats in the bodice of the Persimmon.  Great small details that make it special.  I plan to make a long sleeve top to go underneath and then add leggings so she can wear it year round.  Make sure to go check out the pattern HERE.

Little man's outfit is the Tinley Tee and the Field Research Pants (read more about the pants HERE).  Wanted to get the stripes of the bumblebee but kept the pants solid so it wouldn't be too crazy.

I am not sure how the little man feels.  He wanted the shirt off almost as soon as I put it on him.  I think we'll just have to hope he starts to enjoy it.

Overall, I love how these all came together.  Plus, they kids for the most part love them.  How about you?  Do you think we were successful?

  15. so cute!! I love that you still have your stuffie ;o) Love the outfits, perfect for play and very clear inspiration! I'm currently hosting a sewing series called Sew Many Books. There is a sew a long {with prizes!} and not many entries ;o) If you have sewed anything inspired by a book in 2014 I'd love for you to come over and link it up. It doesn't have to be a new project. Head over to Nap-Time Creations and look up Sew Many Books...
