How to Make Chair Cushions
- (1) 17" x 17" cotton fabric - cushion front
- (2) 11" x 17" cotton fabric - cushion backs
- (2) 2" x 21" cotton fabric - cushion ties
- 16" x 16" foam cushion
- Matching Thread
For the foam pad, I used the 4-pack of Polyfil foam cushions from Walmart—they’re 16" x 16" and perfect for standard chairs.
You can also find similar ones online or at your local craft store or check on Amazon for similar products.
Step 1
Use the chart above to cut out the correct pieces in your cotton fabric.
Step 4
Hem one of the long sides of each back piece by folding 1/4" and pressing. Folding again another 1/4" and press. Stitch along the hem.
Repeating on the opposite piece. Make sure you are folding to the wrong side of the fabric.
Step 7
Stitch around the outside at 1/2". Making sure to backstitch. Trim your corners. Press.
Woot woot! You can now tie it to the sides of your chairs and uncomfy seats.
