Plus, you can customizable it by picking fabrics that work with your décor and even change the size to fit larger and smaller versions.
The project calls for a 5" x 5" square, but you can go up or down in size to fit your needs better.
This cord keeper makes traveling with electronics a lot easier as well. No more cords getting tangled in your backpack or laptop cords being stuck in other items.
Let's get you sewing your own cord keeper.
DIY Cord Keeper Pattern
Materials Needed- 5" x 5" piece of cotton fabric
- 4.5" x 4.5" piece of fusible interfacing (optional)
- 1" piece of Velcro
- Thread
Cut out materials using list above.
Press interfacing to wrong side of fabric.
Fold fabric in half with wrong sides together. Mark a 1.5" opening on the long side. Stitch edges together but leave the opening.
Turn fabric right side out and press. Topstitch down the long side of the cord keeper to close off the opening.
Place one side of the Velcro to the short edge of the cord keeper. Stitch around the Velcro to attach to the cord keeper.
Place the other side of the Velcro on the "back" of the opposite side of the cord keeper. They should not be on the same side.
Stitch the Velcro in place.
Wrap your cord in the cord keeper.
