When it comes to filling Christmas treat bags, nobody wants a bag full of coal (at least not the kind that comes from Santa's workshop). So what IS the best way to fill those goodie bags? Here are a few ideas to get you started:
For the health conscious: packets of nuts or seeds, dried fruit, or even a mini fitness tracker.
For the sweet tooth: candy canes, chocolate coins, or maybe even a small cake or cupcake. Just be sure to wrap it up well so it doesn't make a mess in the bag.
For the kid who has everything: a gift card to their favorite restaurant or store, tickets to a local attraction, or even a homemade coupon for an afternoon of fun activities.

Whatever you choose to put in your Christmas treat bags, make sure it's something that will bring a smile to the recipient's face. After all, that's what the holiday season is all about.

How to make reindeer treat bags

- Reindeer Treat Bag Pattern - Download at the end of the post, look for the peach colored button
- Brown, Red and Tan Felt
- 10-12" ribbon
- Thread
- Small Treats

Step 1
Cut out felt pieces for the reindeer body, ears and nose.

Step 2
Take the reindeer ear pieces and place them over the top of the ear background. Stitch around the ears.

Place nose on the front of the reindeer. It can be towards the middle or bottom, just however you like it to look. Stitch nose to front piece.

Place the reindeer front and back, with wrong sides together. Stitch around the outside of the reindeer at 1/4". Leaving the space between the ears open. This is where you'll place your treats.
If you need more space to put your treat inside, don't sew all the way up the inside of the ears.

Insert all your yummy treats into your treat bag.
