DIY No-Sew Fleece Scarf Pattern

"It's so soft?" was the reaction of my daughter after trying out her new fleece scarf.

Not only was she in love with how soft it was, she loved that it matched her new mittens and winter hat.

But the best part to me was that it was a really, really fast project.  One that she could make herself to add to her winter wardrobe.  And to make for gifts for friends and family.

Materials Needed

Step 1
Cut scarf to be 8" x 60" for kids or 8" x 72" for adults.

Step 2
Cut the selvage off the side of the fleece.

Step 3
Measure up 4" from the short side.  Place a piece of tape along that line.

Step 4
Take scissors and cut up to the tape in 1" strips.  Continue down the entire short side of the scarf.  Remove tape.

Step 5
Knot each of the strips.  Keeping the knot as close to where the tape was before removing.

Step 6
Repeat steps 2-5 on the opposite end of the scarf.

  1. Hi! I got a remnant today which is 60 in length. Assume I should sew 2 pieces together to make it 72 inches for an adult?

    1. Yes, that would work the best. You can try and line up your stitching line with where you cut the tassels at the ends. It will help hide the stitches a bit.
