With all that is going on in the world, the sewing community is stepping up and wanting to help medical providers with shortages.
That is all great and inspiring. But here are a couple tips for those wanting to sewing and help in your own community.

Start by asking your friends and family in the health care field. They might personally need something and you can make it.
If that doesn't work, call your local doctors, hospitals and hospice. I personally think we need to keep it local if we can. If they are not in need, you don't need to worry about it.
Another option is to check out your own local facebook groups or search for groups like this one called Sewing for Lives. They put you in contact with actual requests for medical sewing needs.
Or check out Donate Take Action and see if there is a need in your area.
And remember, medical grade masks, gowns and booties are best. But if there is a shortage the CDC has some guidance on handmade medical sewing projects.
I hope this list will help you in your quest to help. But just remember the most important thing for you to do is stay safe and stay home.
