The best place to start when sewing a zipper is to make a simple pouch.  You can make a pencil or make-up pouch or make a little coin pouch.  I use my pouch for storing my essential oils.  Either is a great option when learning how to sew a zipper pouch.  Plus, they can be very useful around the house, at work or at school.

Step 1
Place the lining fabric on a table with the right side facing up, place the zipper facing up and then the main fabric with wrong side up.  Pin in place.  Stitch the layers together along the zipper using your zipper foot.  (Just attach your zipper foot and sew close to the zipper teeth.) Press both layers out away from the zipper.
