Card Keepsake Books Tutorial

If you are anything like me, you are a bit sentimental about cards and pictures.  You also probably have a huge stack of cards on your dresser, or in a box, or just taking up space in your junk drawer.  That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can be a little frustrating.  That is why I wanted to make a greeting card keepsake album for all those cards.

This quick greeting card keepsake album is the perfect solution to get your cards organized and off the dresser.  It is also a great activity to do with the kids.  As most often the cards I've hung onto are theirs.  Let me walk you through the steps.

Materials Needed
Greeting Cards
Hole Punch
Metal Rings - I got 1" rings, but you might want bigger if you intend to put a lot of cards into one album

Step 1
Take all your greeting cards and hole punch them.  I use my 3 ring hole punch because I know for sure all my punches will be equally spaced.  That makes it a lot easier to get them all onto the same rings.  But you can use a single hole punch.

I also only punch 2 holes since the cards are not usually large enough for 3 holes.

Step 2
If you have a card like this one that is glittery or maybe has pieces that move or come off, you can place it in a plastic bag and then hole punch it.  That will help to keep smaller items from falling off or second hand glitter from getting on everything.

Step 3
Next, take you metal rings and add your hole punch cards to it.  You can arrange them by date, size, color.  Whatever you want to add into your greeting card keepsake album.

Now you can enjoy your cards and they are all in one place.   Wouldn't this be a fun way to store Christmas cards or Valentine's?  All in one place to look at and enjoy each year.

Each of my children have their own memory box and that is where we keep their greeting card keepsake albums.  A couple times each year we open up their albums and add the new cards they've received.  It works out really great.
