DIY Children's Daily Schedule

I have a 4 year old.  He really believes her rules the world.  He also gets a bit confused about what is going on during the day, especially when it is a busy day.  So we put together this fun, functional Daily Schedule Chart just for him.  He really likes it, probably because it has velcro pieces so that he can help put on and take off pieces.  Frankly, I like it too.  Today I thought I'd share how we put it together.

Materials Needed:
Large Poster Board
Scissors
Velcro Strips
Laminating Sheets and machine

Step #1
Laminate all your cards.  You can go to a copy store to laminate or I use the Scotch Thermal Laminator and Laminating Pouches.  Once you are laminated, go ahead and cut out each of your cards.

Step #2
Next, grab your poster board.  You can write something at the top, maybe your child's name or just "Today's Schedule", whatever.  Next grab your velcro.  Make sure to get some that has the sticky back.  Place 2 strips parallel to each other both the same side (aka the soft side).  Make sure the strips are close enough together so that all the cards fit onto the strips.

Place velcro loop side onto the backs of each of the cards.

Step #3
Grab a gallon size ziploc.  Stitch down the middle of the ziploc with your sewing machine.  Grab packing tape and tape it to the back of the poster board.  Place your days of the week cards on one side and your activity cards on the other.

Step #4
Stick your board to the wall.  I used removable velcro strips.  You could use a push pin too.

Now organize your schedule and make sure to change it every day.  Weekends are the hardest for me to remember.  But I will say it has helped a lot!
