Having a baby is a LOT of work! I was lucky to survive the craziness of having my first baby so making my own baby food was never a thought. I was working full time and trying to figure out how to keep this very small and very demanding little person happy. For him, store bought baby food was the answer!! I don't regret it or think that I was a bad mom because of it. However, with my daughter I really wanted to try out some homemade baby food recipes.

When I decided to make my own baby food, I knew I wanted fresh fruits and veggies. We had a great garden full of yummy veggies and a great blender. Plus, my little girl was an EATER!! She loved and still loves to feed herself. At 7 months, she didn't want me to feed her. She wanted to do it herself and she did.

Since she was such a good eater I also went through a lot of burp cloths and bibs. I ended up making a lot of my own and shared this great burp cloth pattern. But I would much rather have a good eater than a picky one. These great homemade baby food recipes really helped me so I hope they will help you too!
Making your own baby food can seem a bit daunting. However, with a few of the right tools, you can be super successful. Here are a few of the products I used. And no! They don't have to be expensive.
- A Baby Food Mill - I loved this because I could use it for almost any fresh fruit or veggie but I could also use it with whatever we were eating for dinner.
- Frozen Pop Tray - this is perfect for little hands to hold and for freezing fresh pureed baby food
- Baby Food Storage Containers - this lids lock. Enough said!!
- Refillable Squeeze Pouches - my youngest loved squeeze pouches and I loved that they could be homemade.
