If you haven't noticed, the blog has been a bit quiet as of lately. Not because I don't want to blog, but life got super crazy. But I am excited for the new season of Project Run and Play. It has helped me to get my sewing mojo back. (Which is good, since in about 3 months, I'll be needing some super tiny clothes for baby #3! Good reason to take a little blog break, yes?!)
I am super excited about all the themes for this season. We've done some fun brainstorming and have some fun ideas to share in the next few weeks.
For this challenge, Nothing But Knit, I knew I wanted something simple, clean and great for a little outing to the park or library. So layers were a must. And I love sewing with knits! So I knew I couldn't pass up this challenge. (Check out some other fun projects HERE)
I decided on making the Denali Fleece Jacket with the gathered front and side pockets. (Check out the pattern HERE) Little Miss LOVES pockets. She was really excited for her new jacket too and pretty much sat on my lap the entire time I was sewing it. I used some fun owl and pink fleece from JoAnns and then lined it with pink interlock.
The jacket has snaps down the front which is great for her to get on and off all by herself. A big plus for this momma who needs all the help she can get. For her knit dress, I used the Tinley Tee as the base and drafted an a-line dress from it.
Such a cute outfit!
ReplyDelete3 months left? Already? The final stretch!
Finally! Can't wait to see your precious one
DeleteCongrats on baby #3!! Little Miss is getting so big! That jacket looks super cozy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erin! I can hardly believe how big she is getting. Your girls are grow so fast too
DeleteSo practical and cute--I love knits! This jacket is so great--I'd love to make one but for some reason I'm scared of snaps. I need to get over it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! Snaps are so much easier than you would think Beth. You can totally do it. Or switch them out and do buttons and buttonholes.
DeleteOh my gosh, I did almost the same thing with the Tinley. That is so funny. Yours is adorable. The gathered sleeves are my favorite option on that pattern. Love the jacket too. She's looking so cozy in it.
ReplyDeleteI love your dress Angela. I guess great minds think alike!
DeleteFirst of all, congratulations! And that little dress is so darling-from the puff sleeves to the wide band at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I'm a sucker for puff sleeves
DeleteThe jacket is adorable, and the dress is so pretty. I love that you made a thick band for the bottom, it looks really nice and is so practical!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and comfy outfit! The fleece jacket looks so warm and cozy. Congrats on baby #3, too! :)
