Tinley Tee and Love Me Knot Shorts Tour

Tinley Tee and Love Me Knot Shorts Tour by GYCT Designs

Today I wanted to share with you my newest Tinley Tee and Love Me Knot Shorts.  It might seem weird for me to be on my own pattern tour, but I couldn't turn down the chance to show off this cute outfit.

First, let's talk about the top.  I decided to make the top one size larger then what she already wears.  That way she can wear it all winter.  I also wanted to make the layered sleeve option.  I layered the gathered cap sleeve with the long sleeve.  I love the end result.  So simple but really gives a new look.

To try something even more different, I changed the hem of the top.  I didn't use a regular hem, instead I did a lettuce hem on the long sleeve.  This is not in the directions for the pattern, but you can easily do this hem.  I will have a little tutorial out soon on how to make a lettuce hem.

I also used the lettuce hem on the bottom of her shirt.  Love how it turned out.  Makes the shirt just a little more feminine.  She liked it too.

For her shorts, I used a stretch denim.  I love how they turned out.  The fit is very nice and she can wear them for a couple months before fall really hits.

  1. I just finished my second Tinley Chelsea! It will be on the blog in a few days. I love this polka version and a layered option is on my list too. Thanks again for including me in your tour and allow me to have the chance to try this. It became one of my favourite patterns already.
